- Kitty and I are heading to Indy this morning. We don't expect any news. We're just going down to be with the rest of the family.
- Joe Kenny stopped in while we weren't around again. He's been a great source of information and support.
- Dad unfortunately remains unchanged in some respects. When a nurse asked him if he'd move over for her, he responded "Heck, I'd lie on the floor for you."
- Shortly after we arrived, the gang showed up for a wild party. Yesterday they asked if Dad could get a private room and 15 minutes later two big guys came in, put his roommate on a stretcher and carried him out. Today he was in a room with only one bed (and a great view). It was filled to capacity.
- After getting sufficient attention from the floor nurse, they all left.
- Wayne Van Fossen (from TKE) visited while Kitty and I went to lunch with Jessie in the cafeteria.
- Kitty took Mom back to the hotel to clean up and get some sleep. Dad has been restless at night.
- Shumakers visited with good stuff for Dad.
- Dad is on Heprin (or perhaps heparin [http://familydoctor.org/handouts/244.htm]?) to return (reduce) his blood's clotting ability to where it usually is in order to prevent fouling his heart valve. He got a little too much, so they removed it for an hour.
- When we learned that he'd be "unplugged" for an hour, the running shoes came out and we were off for a fast hike around the hospital. I think we visited every major corridor on the first floor and even went outside. I probably should have lied when Dad asked if I knew where the stairs are. (I got winded jogging up them before - it's ~7 flights.) He had a blood pressure reading right after we got back. It was a little on the high side.
- I had our field report book and we discussed lots of details about the farm that I have always left to him.
- We watched some of the Minnesota and Purdue basketball games. (a rarity for me)
- It's possible but unlikely that Dad will be able to leave tomorrow. He needs to get some index (which has to do with blood clotting) between 2.5 and 3.5. It was at 1.5. He's hoping to go home on Monday.
- Richard and Coles are heading back to North Carolina tomorrow.
