- Dad has been disoriented several times recently. The folks at the radio station called to inform me of this last week.
- I visited Dad and he seemed fine on Tuesday.
- On Sunday, I played volleyball with Dad at the high school. Although his serving was, as usual, much better than mine, he repeatedly lost track of the ball when it was overhead. On the way home, he took a wrong turn and drove in a manner that concerned me.
- After volleyball, we dug out the west ditch in order to lay two new sewer sections for a crossing.
- Before I left, we talked about getting a checkup and notifying the doctor of his disorientation.
- On Tuesday, Dad went in for his checkup. Dr. Sheets ordered an MRI scan due to his disorientation. An abnormality was found in his brain.
- Dr. Ahler assisted in overcoming Dad's reluctance to go to Methodist.
- Dad went to the house and then to Methodist Hospital by Steinke ambulance and was assisted by John Balvich.
- Kitty and I attended the AOPA town meeting in Indy. We did not arrive home until after midnight. We had lots of phone messages.
- I spoke with Dad at the hospital around 12:30am. He was still in a chair waiting to be admitted.
- Bud and Mary Hammond retrieved Zach and the truck from the hospital parking lot.
- I visited Dad today. He seemed his usual self. His nurse, Kim, was taking good care of him.
- He seems quite out of place in the "Stroke Unit." We took a couple fast-paced (considering Dad was pushing around his IV drip) walks around the floor.
- We enjoyed visits from Dr. and Mary Kenny, and then Jill and Dave Shumaker.
- Dad was later placed on a list to get another MRI scan. There was some concern about his heart valve interfering with it. We did not know when it would happen so we chatted about business needs and accomplished some reading. (Dad forgot to bring his stack.)
- Just as Cameron called, the transport arrived for his scan.
- After his scan, we got to see the images, but we were told we wouldn't get an interpretation until tomorrow.
- We spent a little more time together in his room and then I returned home around 6:00.
- I'm hoping to meet Dad's neurosurgeon, Dr. Payner tomorrow after I run some errands in Rensselaer.
- Renel, Jessie, Richard, Laird and Coles should be here tomorrow afternoon.
