I expect better from pilots. I thought it would be interesting to finally start collecting examples of some of their stupidity.

• It's "stupid" and "irrational" to only be willing to pay for something that works (Tom Sixkiller)
• flame for using correct terminology (Dashi, Peter Gottlieb)
• defending the "right" of an errant pilot to make demands of resucers, using the namecalling approach (Rosspilot)
• It's ASSININE to call that thing in your pocket a "cell phone." (George R Patterson)
• The FCC bans things it doesn't. (Jerry Bransford)

Fortunately there are many people who make trudging through the noise on rec.aviation.* worthwhile. I wish I had an exhaustive list, but here are a few I'd like to remember.
