  Dimensions
Our fabrication process produces a sandwich structure that is exceptionally flat, stable and lighter than a solid CF laminate. DragonPlate™ Carbon Fiber Laminate is currently available in thicknesses from .025 to .250 inches thick. Standard sizes range from 5.75 x 5.75 inches up to 23.5 x 23.5 inches. Custom sizes are available upon quotation.

  Appearance
DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Laminate is produced with one side very shiny and clear for appearance, and the other side with a dull finish for bonding. The shiny side is pristine with no bubbles or voids. The carbon fiber cloth literally shimmers under the crystal clear epoxy. The bonding side is flat and non-reflective and the surface has the feel of a very fine fabric-like texture superimposed on the weave of the carbon fiber fabric. Both surfaces are completely sealed.

  Workability
DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Laminate is easy to work with. It can be cut with a band saw, coping saw, scroll saw, end mill, or dremmel tool. It can be drilled with standard twist drills. It can be assembled with fasteners or bonded with epoxy.

DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Veneer

Many of our customers have been using our thinnest DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Laminate as a veneer. In an effort to provide a better material for this application, we developed a carbon fiber veneer that is very flexible while still maintaining the beautiful DragonPlate finish!

DragonPlate Veneer is capable of forming to a cylindrical diameter as small as 2 inches! It will easily wrap around a coffee mug! DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Veneer can be easily cut with shears or heavy scissors and the edges can be sanded smooth. Why settle for a simulated carbon fiber decal when you can now get the real thing!

NEW SCRATCH RESISTANT MATTE FINISH!
Dragonplate veneer is available in a glossy finish and also a scratch resistant matte finish (see picture to left for comparison). Our veneers come ready to install with contact cement or for quick and easy installation, we now offer a veneer with self adhesive backing. Simply peel and stick! See how easy it is to install. View our Dashboard Veneer Installation How-to.

DragonPlate veneer is currently available in stock sizes up to 23.5 x 23.5 inches with custom sizes available upon quotation.

DragonPlate Artisan Laminate

Several of our more artistic customers requested a carbon fiber laminate specifically designed for shaped pieces such as knife handles. DragonPlate Artisan Laminate consists of alternating laminates of carbon fiber and hardwood veneer. The resulting lamination is a beautiful contrast of carbon and hardwood. Carved shapes are highlighted by the patterns of dark and light, as various laminates are exposed.

DragonPlate Artisan Laminate is currently sold in ¼ inch nominal thickness in pieces up to 5.9 x 5.9 inches. It is available in either birch or cherry.

DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tube and Rod

Pultruded in an epoxy resin, DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tubes and Rods are exceptionally straight and rigid and are an ideal building material for frames, trusses and for use as reinforcing material. Because tube and rod are fundamental building blocks, they find great utility in the building of engineering and high performance structures, and work well in concert with DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Laminate.

DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tubes and Rods are easy to work. They can be cut with a band saw, coping saw, scroll saw, end mill, or dremmel tool. Because DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tube and Rod are pultruded in an epoxy matrix they will bond readily with ScotchWeld 6122 epoxy resin.

DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Tube and Rod are available in various sizes. See Sales Page for more information.
